Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 until an appointed time? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
