Thamud denied the messengers 141 Behold, their brother Salih said to them: "Will you not fear (Allah)? 142 I am for you an honest Messenger. 143 so fear you God, and obey you me.' 144 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 145 Do you think that you will be left secure [forever] -- 146 In gardens and springs. 147 And tilled fields and heavy-sheathed palm-trees, 148 "And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill. 149 Have fear of God and obey me. 150 "And follow not the bidding of those who are extravagant,- 151 who do corruption in the earth, and set not things aright.' 152 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched! 153 Thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! Come, then, forward with a token [of thy mission] if thou art a man of truth!" 154 Replied he: "This she-camel shall have a share of water, and you shall have a share of water, on the days appointed [therefor]; 155 Do not cause her to suffer lest you become subject to the torment of the great day (of Judgment)." 156 But they killed her, and then they became regretful. 157 and the punishment seized them. Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 158 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 159

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
