Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
