Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 As justification or warning, 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 till a known term decreed? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
