Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 storming tempestuously 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 until an appointed time? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
