Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 As justification or warning, 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead. 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
