Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 excusing or warning, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
