Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 for an appointed term? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
