Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead. 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
