The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 Recompense fitted! 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
