The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
