The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
