The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what ask they? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 The night a covering, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 , A fitting reward. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
