The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great event, 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 , A fitting reward. 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
