The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
