The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
