The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 a fitting requital, 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
