The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 , A fitting reward. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
