The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the Great News 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
