The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
