The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
