The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
