The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and gathered his people together 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
