The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
