The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and gently take it away; 2 by those that swim serenely 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
