The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 you pay attention 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
