The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
