The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and gently take it away; 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 then he mustered 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
