The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
