The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
