He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 you eagerly attended to him -- 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 And hath fear, 9 From him you are distracted. 10 Not this way this is the advice. 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 In honored books, 13 lofty and pure, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 noble, pious. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 to yield therein corn, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces on that day will be radiant, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 but others will be gloomy 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
