He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 and in awe of God 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 On honourable pages. 13 Exalted, pure. 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle), 28 And olives and date palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.), 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 whereas some faces will be covered with dust 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
