He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 Now he who waxes indifferent, 5 To him you give attention. 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 And he fears, 9 You neglect. 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 lofty and pure, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 and olive trees and date palms 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 and fruits and fodder 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Blackness overcoming them. 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
