He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 you attend to him, 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 and fearfully, 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 and dense orchards, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
