He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 when the blind came to him. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 So you are after him! 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 From him you are distracted. 10 Not this way – this is the advice. 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 noble and purified. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We send down abundant water, 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 And produce therein corn, 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 And dense gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
