The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
