The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
