The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the books are spread, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And the night when it departs, 17 The rising dawn, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
