The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
