The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
