The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
