The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 The rising dawn, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
