Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord Most Beneficent?- 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 noble scribes, 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
