Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
