Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 noble, recording, 11 who know all that you do: 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 whereas, behold, the wicked will indeed be in a blazing fire 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 And never therefrom will they be absent. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
