The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WOE TO THOSE who give short measure, 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 Will not the disbelievers then be duly recompensed for their laughing at the believers? 36
