The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 on a Great Day, 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 A book inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 Nay! Verily, the Record (writing of the deeds) of Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil), is (preserved) in 'Illiyyun. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 a written record, 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 On couches face to face. 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 And mixed with water of Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 And, when they passed them, to wink at each other, 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
