The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
God the Almighty always says the truth.
