The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
