The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
